St. Francois State Park is just one those magnificent places I can never get enough of. I often refer to it as “my heart.” When visiting, you really get a feel for the Ozark terrain. Vast forests, rolling hills, fascinating rock formations and glades make up this 2,000 acre beauty, and I can never get enough of it (I know I said that already).
There is something truly awe inspiring to be surrounded with such marvelous, undefaced nature. There are times along the Pike Run trail that every horizon is met with enormous hills and trees. When I visited this time, it was during the summer, and right after a flood. It did not make for the most relaxing experience since all the trails were washed away. But, I was determined to get some pretty summer shots, for the first time. More about this marvelous place can be found here.
