Artwork
As with most artists, I started drawing as soon as I could hold a crayon. As such, it’s where my heart is. However, somewhere along the way the ability to draw became lost to me and I began using photography as my artistic expression. The ability to draw is slowly getting better, but really I’d much rather paint than draw anyway. If you’ve read my blurb about photography, you know I categorized as a lighter side of my creativity. Painting and drawing is much the same, just fun. I adore character creation and am continuously striving to perfect that art.
On the other hand, the social activist in me is disturbed and angry, which gives birth to the photo montages. Some consider it dark or macabre; whatever you want to call it, know that it is a reflection on where we live and who we live with. If it disturbs you, imagine how I feel. Whatever the case, even though these pieces begin with photography and end in Photoshop or Painter, I feel it necessary to separate them from the “regular” photography and file them neatly under artwork.
